Instant Vegan Hot Chocolate
There’s something about instant vegan hot chocolate you can find out more about the flavours here that makes it so delicious. The rich chocolate flavor makes it a wonderful drink to have on a warm summer day, especially when paired with a bowl of fresh fruit juice and a slice of dark chocolate cake. But not all chocolate is created equally. Most people are familiar with the white chocolate variety that has been processed to get its smooth, melt-in-your-mouth texture, but did you know that there are also dark versions? In fact, these are even healthier than your average-sized piece of chocolate!

Instant vegan hot chocolate uses a soy based chocolate that comes from cacao beans that have been treated with a high concentration of cacao extract. This way, you don’t have to worry about ingesting any harmful chemicals.
To make instant vegan hot chocolate, all you need are three ingredients. They are: cocoa butter, vegan shortening (monounsaturated fats), and instant coffee. Depending on the brand you buy, the other two ingredients may vary, but the first two should always be the same. Pure cocoa butter is a healthy fat that comes from cacao beans. Cocoa butter is a natural moisturizer that will leave your lips feeling soft and moisturized; however, do not use regular butter because it contains high levels of hydrogenated vegetable oils that will lead to cancer.
Now, all you have to do is melt some vegan shortening. Any type of shortening will do, so just choose vegan shortening that does not contain hydrogenated vegetable oils. Once the shortening melts, add your favorite flavor of instant coffee. If you want the hot chocolate drink right away, you can pour the chocolate into little moldings that are lined with chocolate. It can be in the shape of hearts, bars or whatever else you prefer. You can also pour your hot chocolate into cute little milk cartons and store them in the fridge.
When ready to drink, just heat up your cup of instant vegan hot chocolate. If you want a richer chocolate flavor, stir in any additional hot chocolate mix or chocolate chips. Stir constantly to avoid scorching your mouth. You can see if the chocolate has melted by the droplets of chocolate running out of your spoon. If it looks dark and still warm, that means it has not cooled enough yet and you should wait until the chocolate is nearly liquid to serve.
Serve instant vegan hot chocolate with any other fruits that you prefer. My personal favorite is Brazil nuts. It is a bit more expensive than regular nuts but they taste so much better and you will not feel guilty about eating something you might not otherwise buy. When you feel like eating something healthy, especially if you are on a diet, you can eat instant chocolate instead of anything else. It is a great, healthy alternative that tastes great and helps to reduce your calorie intake.
